Frequently asked questions
What happened to Fitness Adventures?
We grew! We had so many tours and not all were fitness-based so we needed to introduce a big brother and Meo Adventures was born. ‘Meo' is latin for ‘to go along, pass or traverse’ which we thought was fitting - don’t you?
What do I need to pack?
This really depends on which tour you are doing. Each tour info pack has a packing list specific to that tour inside. You’ll be sent a detailed packing list with your pre-departure information pack so all you have to do it tick the items off the list!
How fit do I need to be to do one of your Fitness Adventures?
Each of our tours has a grade of difficulty:
- Easy: If you can walk for 20-30 minutes on flat ground without stopping then you’ll be fine for the easy tours.
- Moderate: You need to have a little more stamina and strength for our moderate tours. You should be able to walk for an hour or two on terrain that varies with some hills and rough surfaces.
- Challenging: We recommend you are regularly active and can walk for four hours or cycle regularly for two to three hours over varying terrain. The most difficult thing about our challenging tours is altitude. Because of the thin air, we make sure we stop regularly and don’t cover large distances in a single day. Once you’re acclimatised, though, you should be fine – it’s just the hills to contend with!
How do we connect with our guide?
Before you depart you will be provided with your Australian and Indonesian contact details which you should then keep with you at all times during your trip. You will be met by your guide or airport transfer driver at the start of the tour. They will be holding a board with your name clearly visible as you exit the gate at the airport.
Who are your guides?
Our guides are tried, tested and trustworthy locals. We’ve spent lots of time finding the best guides out there so that we can ensure your safety. The guides we use are very experienced, all speak very good English and practice responsible travel. You can meet some of our guides on our blog.
Why do all of your Indian tours start in Manali?
Manali is located in the Indian Himalayas. It is beautiful! If you’ve visited Nepal, you’ll get the same vibe here. Manali is safe and clean as its run by the Indian Army. It’s also a great starting point for multitudes of treks and cycles. See more on Manali here.
